Round and circular windows are beautiful architectural features, but they can be challenging when it comes to finding suitable shading solutions. Standard rectangular blinds often cover the shape of the window and diminish its visual impact.

One of the most elegant solutions is plantation shutters custom made to match the exact curve of the window. These can be designed with traditional horizontal louvers or with radial louvers that fan outward from the centre for a striking visual effect. The shutters can also be detached using discreet catches, allowing full access to the glass when required.

Another option is circular Venetian blinds, which are manufactured within a custom round frame. While the blind remains fixed in place, the slats can be tilted to control light and privacy, creating a similar aesthetic to shutters.

Although traditional roller blinds cannot be made in a circular shape, a clever design solution is to install a rectangular blind behind a panel with a round opening. This approach maintains the appearance of a circular blind while discreetly concealing the blind mechanism, similar to the design used in aircraft windows.

For some installations, the window can also be divided into two halves using semi circular Duette® blinds mounted along the centre line. Each blind extends outward to cover its respective section of the window, providing effective light control while maintaining the original shape.
